Meh. Were it me, I’d have gone for a new Charger (GT for the fuel economy, R/T if that’s not that important) or a used ‘18 A6 3.0T.

Both are reliable, extremely good as daily drivers, have good tech, are capable in the twisties, and cost the same. The Charger GT and A6 3.0T also get better highway fuel economy than the Stinger does, while having a much better cool factor.

I immediately started looking them up, and he wasn’t kidding the prices are really good. It’s really hard to find one with the red interior unfortunately. And the infotainment screen is a little small but whatever.

Charger Scat packs are surprisingly cheap (relatively) . Plus getting it in Green or Purple would have added brownie points, in addition to buying cool something that people hardly consider.

Interesting.  I feel like this is the first car he’s bought in awhile that’s going to have an abysmal resale versus what he purchased it for.  The last might’ve been the Range Rover.

I had a rental charger gt for a month, handling is so bad compared to stinger and interior doesn’t feel as good as well. Not comparable cars IMO.

He overpaid, I got a quote for 2020 gt2 today for 40,266 after incentives, which has MSRP of 53,735. Trick is to get costco price (4-5k off) then lease it ( for 2 year lease, gets more than 10k off) as soon as car lease show up on account (within 1 month of purchase ) finance and buy it out.

As I recall from the video he got it for $37K, so a $15K discount , or about 29%, off list. And I thought I got a good deal when I got my Mazda for 20% off MSRP.

I also picked up a 2018 Stinger GT with 8k miles for 5 to 7k cheaper than an Audi A6. The Kia is lighter, more HP, 55 more torquey thingys, the cool (to me) hatch and it's RWD. And the car will be meaningfully cheaper to own. I also looked at the Scat Packs, but at the end of the day those cars are not of great quality. At least the Kias got a great warranty.
